3D Lipo: What's it all about?

If it’s good enough for Coleen Rooney then it’s good enough for me. Malinki cosmetics (the architects of my amazing eyebrows) invited me along to try their latest toy a "3d laser lipo" machine which the lovely Mrs Rooney has already partaken of. I had treatment on my waist and lower abdomen.
WHAT IS IT?
It’s a laser machine which first freezes, then bursts, then melts, then flushes out your fat cells. Due to it’s non-invasive technique there’s no down time whatsoever and you can target specific areas.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
A full course is 8 sessions and there’s 4 different parts. The first session involves your skin being sucked up into a hoover while metal plates cool down to -5 degrees which freezes and kills the fat cells. Fat cells die at -1 degree but skin cells don’t die until -10 so there’s no external damage. I was worried I was gonna end up with a massive beefy on my stomach but thankfully that wasn’t the case. Then there’s a few ultrasound treatments which shatter the fat cells meaning they can start flushing out your system – these are immediately followed by a heating treatment which tightens the skin. Then theres a suction roller which helps shape you.
WHAT WAS IT LIKE?
The freezing suction looked proper weird. It was slightly uncomfortable for the first 30 seconds but due to the extreme cold of the plates the skin goes numb so you can’t feel a thing. The ultrasound and heating is actually quite relaxing, like a massage – during the ultrasound bit you can hear a weird buzzing sound in your ears which is mad at first. The suction roller is a bit pinchy I’m not going to lie but not bad at all.
WHAT DID I THINK?
The freezing bit is the main part of the treatment but it takes 4-6 weeks to kick in. As the treatment was wearing on I thought ‘this isn’t working’ but then one day I woke up in and looked in the mirror and was proper shocked. I’ve always had a proper sticky out bump on my lower abdomen (thank god for spanx) but it had gone pretty much flat and inline with my upper abdomen. I was made up.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Sessions normally cost between £150 and £400 with a half course RRP of £1500. This is currently on offer for £499
